5 Reasons Why You Should Hire A Wedding Planner

Updated: Jul 8, 2020

One of the main questions that I still get asked is "why should I hire a wedding planner for my big day". I personally think there are many reasons, however, everyone has their own view on this topic.

Here are my top 5 reasons that I believe you should hire a planner based on my experience and feedback from past couples -

I know that wedding planning is not your full time job. At the end of the day, after working and completing your daily routine, the last thing you are going to want to do is sit down and start this new project, planning your wedding. Or if you do have the time, I have noticed that the fun is taken out of the planning for most couples because they want to get home and relax after a long day.

Great news, this is our full time job, we are the experts and are here to take things off of your plate! Have it be a small responsibility or a large responsibility, it is one less thing that you have to worry about.

I am not going to lie to you, weddings are expensive. Most couples sit down and have the initial conversation together to discuss what they are able to spend, but it is easy to lose sight of that as you plan and realize that you really like certain upgrades that are being offered. You would be surprised at the amount of times I've heard "what's an extra couple hundred dollars at this point".

My job as your wedding planner is to sit down with you in the beginning to discuss your needs vs your wants in order to stay within that budget and if you are going to exceed your set budget to take the time to weigh the pros and cons of doing so with you rather than you making a quick decision.

Over the years, I have had the experience working with local venues and vendors allowing me to create lasting relationships with them. Many vendors not only work locally, but nationally as well so it is not uncommon to work with the same few at multiple weddings throughout the year. This also allows me to know the pros and cons of their products/services which I can then provide you with.

Going off of reason 3 above - we also have the experience reviewing their contracts, which is a tool that took time to develop over the years. There are a LOT of details and it is very easy to get caught up in the excitement when booking your dream venue/vendors rather than to sit down and read each line item to see what you are signing off on. As the expert, I know where to look to find those hidden fees. Especially these days, with all that is going on with COVID-19 reviewing cancellation policies are more important than ever, you are really going to want to be sure you are covered.

Truly, my main goal is for you to enjoy your wedding day, it goes by so quickly! Maybe you don't hire a full service planner that helps you with your budget, booking your vendors and contracts. Maybe hiring a

"day of" AKA month of coordinator makes more sense for your needs.

*I like to use the term month of coordinator rather than day of coordinator because I need more than just one day to discuss how we make your vision come to life*

This way when your wedding day finally arrives you do not need to stress about setting things up, that is then what I am there to do. Day of will be your time to relax, and truly enjoy every moment with your friends and family. I will be behind the scenes to get it set to what you envisioned before your guests arrive!
